The wonderful spiritual celebrant & “High Priestess” Ana Penitência conducts the ceremony… guiding the bride and guests in a visualisation connecting with the spirit of le Pont du Diable, inviting him to accept Jodi Rose into his strong embrace and offer his eternal strength and stability for her to draw upon…

The guests share a magical moment as we exchange rings – iron for him, made by Simon the blacksmith (originally from Céret) with iron pulled from the River Tech, which flows under the bridge uniting the towns of Arles-sur-Tech and Céret, to the sound of Johnny Cash singing “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.

I’m from Brugge ( Bruges ) in Belgium, by the way.
The city’s name “Brugge”, means “bridge” in our Flemish dialect 🙂 It has Dutch roots.
